About

Lucid dreaming (LD) and out-of-body experiences (OBEs) are altered states of consciousness. LD is the experience of becoming aware that you are dreaming while the dream is still unfolding, or of entering a dream directly from wakefulness while remaining fully conscious. As for an OBE, it is a complex phenomenon with multiple definitions, which can occur in various forms. In a broad sense, it is an experience in which you perceive yourself to be conscious outside of your physical body. This could mean you have a different body, or no body at all. Alternatively, perhaps your body looks just like yours, but from your perspective, you are in a reality different from regular waking reality. In both LDs and OBEs, experiences are accompanied by a variable ability to influence events and aspects of the experience, such as the environment, encountered entities, and how you perceive yourself.

My name is Karine Miras. From my perspective, lucid dreaming, out-of-body experiences (OBEs) and experiences sometimes referred to as astral projection take place within the space of the mind. At the same time, I acknowledge and respect the different beliefs and interpretations surrounding these experiences. For me, however, the interpretation is not the most important aspect. What truly matters is the depth, meaning, and transformative potential of the experience itself.

Over the years, I have learned how to intentionally induce the altered states of consciousness that allow for such experiences. I personally use them for psychological growth, self-discovery, existential freedom, and as an approach to consciousness (spirituality). Having experienced their transformative potential firsthand, I now wish to share this knowledge with others, so that they too can benefit from these experiences.

FAQ

Are lucid dreaming, out-of-body experiences and astral projection the same thing?

Both scientific and non-scientific discussions surrounding these experiences are complex and lack consensus. From my perspective, all of these experiences share a similar underlying physiology, which is further shaped by psychological and cultural factors, as well as by whether they occur naturally or are self-induced. Our focus will be on the practice itself, so that differing beliefs and interpretations about these experiences do not limit our connection or our ability to learn from one another.

Are you a therapist?

I'm not a psychologist or therapist, and I do not offer therapy. Instead, I'm a coach, providing tools and insights on how to use your own dreaming mind to address challenges that you consider appropriate for this practice. These workshops and sessions are educational in nature and are not a substitute for psychological or medical treatment. At the same time, I believe that any tool or practice that can be used creatively has the potential to contribute to psychological improvement and general personal growth.
